Ian - a baritone singer - war born on Long Island at the US-state New York. He absolved a classical singing education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and studied historical song praxis at the Duke University in North Carolina. During this time he worked already at his wide repertoire, which goes from Gregorian music over baroque up to modern music.

Ian won many prices as singer and held concerts in the area of German art songs in the US, Canada and Austria. He came 1997 to German as a scholarship holder and exchange graduate student studying for a doctorate in musicology at the university in Potsdam.

In Russia, North America and Germany you could see and hear Ian as soloist in Mendelsohns "Elias" and "Paulus" as well as interpreter of overtures and church cantatas. The heart of the Gershwin-expert belongs to the "Golden Age" of the musicals which many performances here prove.

Ian was there from the beginning of the musical in Bremen up to the first of April 2001. You could see Ian as regular ensemble swing, Poole, Proops, Lord Savage, Ned and Jack. Even though he left now the musical he will probably be remembered by the fan for his last performance as Poole, where he inserted many new phrases and jokes.... I really did have my fun! Thanks for your many performances and Good Luck for your future!
